Executive Board LEAF Thoughts:
"LEAF embodies the universal language of music and transcends the significance that music and the arts are fundamental cornerstones in every community around the world. my love for music and dance is shared with the LEAF community and continuously grows every festival." love it! Sarah Nie
"LEAF is a vital and vibrant contributor to our local community through the festivals and LSS, and on a larger scale through LI. For me, though, LEAF is an essential part of my own life, for me, my family and my friends. LEAF is a biannual oasis for us that makes our lives richer in ever-changing ways!"James Fisher
"I love that when we LEAF locally, we LEAF globally." Jody Whitehurst
"I always think of LEAF as a twice-a-year gathering of the tribe. It's the focal point we use for the opportunity to be in community with each other, and in the age of Facebook & Twitter, the more real, face-to-face community, the better!" Jim Magill

Board & Core Staff Retreat 2011
"The Rwandan children invited all of us to join them (during a performance). All the things that might separate us - language, culture, age, gender - melted away. And what was left was pure joy. Joy that he could teach, and I could learn, and together in the dance we were happy. That's what LEAF is all about." - Elizabeth, Board President 2007-2008 |
